How can we build a embed the climate crisis into our curriculum? Danny Maher describes the journey his school have been on in creating a culture of care and empowering students to feel able to take social action by building knowledge and understanding within their lessons.
Danny explains how the Climate Strikes and a Greta Thunberg retweet catalysed the school's journey on the path to a climate crisis curriculum and highlights some of the difficulties and 'speed bumps' on the way.
Now back in school, Danny and his extended team are working with DEC (Development Education Centre) Leeds (https://leedsdec.org.uk) and the Erasmus EU partnership project to work climate action and global citizenship into lessons and indeed into the vernacular of the wider school community.
