The Morning Break with Dorian Brown 14-01-22: Edu-bookclubs
Friday Jan 14, 2022
Friday Jan 14, 2022
This week we dip into edu-bookclubs and Dorian is joined by cofounders of the #GLTbookclub, Rhiannon Rainbow and Dave Tushingham. We talk through how the bookclub came about and what the initial motivation was to get it set up.
Rhiannon and Dave describe how the club has grown in popularity over the lockdown period with the online ‘live’ or retrospective podcast/video download serves as added convenience for people unable to make particular shows. They both unashamedly admit that they too are learning still about how to navigate the running and management of the club whilst juggling their full time jobs but it is clear from hearing them speak so passionately, that they feel the extra effort and time spent is more than worth it for their own professional development as well as supporting colleagues all over the world.
This was such a positive and refreshing conversation and if you are thinking of starting your own bookclub, there are some takeaway gems throughout.
Rhiannon and Dave also warmly invite you to get involved and join the #GLTbookclub this year where they already have a fantastic roster of authors confirmed for the forthcoming term.
